The Final Plenary Session of the Model Conference

After successful round of final negotiations we would like to cordially invite you to the Final Plenary Session of the Model Conference of the Faculty of International Relations 2016 which will be held on Wednesday, 13 April 2016 at 9:30 a. m. in the premises of the Assembly Hall of the Economic University in Bratislava. This unique event is organized under the auspices of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák.

The results reached by delegations of states during previous rounds of negotiations will be presented within three panel discussions according to the respective section. Multiple reputable personalities from international practice accepted our invitation and will express their views on the outcomes of the negotiations of the fifth-year students of the Faculty of International Relations and on the specific topics during this special event.

Among the invited experts will be for example Counsellor and Deputy Head of Norwegian Diplomatic Mission Mrs. Rannveig SKOFTELAND; Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation – Dmitry Vashchenko; Economic Advisor to the US Embassy – Dominic T. NGUYEN; significant Slovak climatologist and Head of the Department of Meteorology and Climatology at Comenius University in Bratislava – Professor Milan LAPIN; Head of the Office of the International Organization for Migration in Slovakia – Zuzana Vatráľová; researcher and a personal mentor Director of the Institute for the Study of Labour (IZA) – Dr. Ulf Rinne.

During the Final Plenary Session of the Model Conference FMV 2016 the following topics will be discussed:

10:00 to 11:00 ECONOMIC Section: Europe’s energy security,
11:30 to 12:30 ENVIRONMENTAL Section: Long-term financing of climate change struggle and capacity building,
13:40 to 14:40 POLITICAL Section: Regional dialogue on migration and asylum policy.

The panel discussions will be held in English with simultaneous interpretation into Slovak language. Moreover, the Economic Section will be interpreted into Russian and the Political Section into German and Spanish language.

The 9th Model Conference is organized by students and a team of PhD students of the Faculty of International Relations in cooperation with the Euro-Atlantic Centre and with support from the Slovenská Sporiteľňa Foundation, companies Slovenský plynárenský priemysel, Swiss Re, dm-drogerie markt, Grafton and many others.
